✦ The honest truth
You didn't start a business to become a marketer.
You're great at the thing you do. Roofing, cuts, installs, food, law — whatever it is. That's why you started.
Then someone told you that you needed a website. And SEO. And Instagram. And TikTok. And Google ads. And email funnels. Suddenly you're spending Saturday mornings learning Canva instead of running your business.
We do all of that for you. So you can get back to the work you actually like.
✦ What we do

✦ In their own words
The stuff our clients say when we're not in the room.
Pete and his staff are second to none. I was already on my third company and very frustrated — spending crazy money every month and getting no results. I wish I'd found Friendly years ago. They respond immediately, they listen, they go above and beyond without even saying anything. I'd recommend them to everyone.

You'll typically see leads within the first 2-4 weeks of launching. The ads work right away. The 6-month commitment is about optimization — getting your cost per lead down, improving lead quality, and scaling profitably. Early leads are good; optimized leads are great.
Ad platforms need 50-100 conversions to fully optimize. During weeks 1-4, you'll get leads but costs may be higher. As the algorithm learns who converts, your cost per lead drops and quality improves. That's why we don't judge results until month 2-3.
Platforms test your ads on different audiences. Each conversion teaches it who to target. By week 4-6, it knows your buyers and stops wasting money. You get leads from day one — but by month 3, you're getting better leads for less money.
Leads come quickly, but full optimization takes time. Month 1: Launch and initial leads. Months 2-3: Optimize based on data. Months 4-6: Scale what's working. Quitting at month 2 means you paid for the learning but missed the payoff.
Three things: 1) Targeting right audience (income, location, behavior), 2) Qualifying in ad copy (price ranges, excluding tire-kickers), 3) Lead forms that filter low-intent prospects. We track which leads become customers and feed that back to platforms.
Usually one of three things: 1) Lead quality — we adjust targeting, 2) Follow-up speed — call within 5 minutes, not hours, 3) Sales process needs tweaking. We track the full funnel, not just leads generated.
We don't guarantee numbers because every market differs. We guarantee the process: proper setup, continuous optimization, transparent reporting, strategic pivots. Average client sees 9.2x ROI — some 15x, some 5x.
Retargeting shows ads to people who already visited your website or engaged with your content. These 'warm' leads convert 3-5x better than cold traffic. If someone looked at your roofing page but didn't call, we show them ads for weeks until they're ready. It's following up at scale.
The pixel is a small code snippet on your website that tracks visitor behavior. It tells Facebook: 'This person viewed the pricing page' or 'This person started a form but didn't finish.' We then create audiences of these people and show them specific ads. Without a pixel, you're flying blind.
A Custom Audience is a targeting list built from YOUR data — website visitors, customer emails, phone numbers, video viewers, or people who engaged with your page. These are people who already know you. Ads to Custom Audiences typically cost 50-70% less than cold audiences.
Once you have a Custom Audience (say, your best customers), platforms can find millions of similar people. 'Find me more people like my paying customers.' This is how we scale — start with people who convert, then find more like them. It's your best targeting weapon.
Platforms know age, gender, location, income level, homeownership, job title, interests, and behaviors. For roofing, we target homeowners, age 35-65, household income $75k+, in your service area, who recently searched for contractors. The more specific, the better your leads.
Beyond demographics, platforms track BEHAVIOR — recent searches, apps used, websites visited, purchases made. Someone who just searched 'roof repair near me' is more valuable than a random homeowner. We layer demographics + behaviors + retargeting for laser-focused targeting.
Depends on your sales cycle. Quick decisions (restaurants, med spas): 7-14 days. Considered purchases (roofing, remodeling): 30-90 days. B2B: 90-180 days. We adjust frequency to stay visible without being annoying — typically 3-7 impressions per week per person.
HomeAdvisor sells the SAME lead to 3-5 contractors simultaneously. You're racing to call first while paying $50-150+ per lead. Even if you call immediately, you're competing on price. Plus, many leads are tire-kickers who clicked an ad — not serious buyers. It's a volume game that favors HomeAdvisor, not you.
Same parent company as HomeAdvisor, same model. Shared leads, high costs, race-to-the-bottom pricing pressure. Some contractors make it work by cherry-picking zip codes and disputing bad leads aggressively. But you're renting leads, not building an asset. When you stop paying, leads stop immediately.
Thumbtack can work for specific trades, but downsides: You pay per quote sent (whether they respond or not), customers often price-shop 5+ contractors, and you're competing in a race to the bottom. Best for handymen and small jobs. For roofing or big projects, the ROI rarely makes sense.
Houzz is better for designers and remodelers showcasing portfolios. Lead quality can be higher (homeowners with bigger budgets), but it's expensive and leads trickle slowly. Good for brand building, but don't rely on it for consistent lead flow. Supplement, don't depend.
These are project databases, not lead gen. You're searching bid opportunities manually — time-intensive but can work for commercial GCs and subs. The data is good but requires hustle. Many contractors pay $500-800/month and never find time to use it properly.
Aged leads are 30-90+ days old — people who filled out a form months ago. They've likely already hired someone, forgotten they inquired, or are annoyed by calls. You might pay $5-20 per lead but close rates are 1-3%. Math: 100 leads × $10 = $1,000 for maybe 2 jobs. Fresh leads convert 10x better.
Appointment-setting services charge $50-200+ per 'appointment' but quality varies wildly. Many are just lead forms repackaged. The 'appointment' might be someone who agreed to 'learn more' — not a qualified buyer. You have no control over messaging, targeting, or brand perception.
Control: You own your pixel data, audiences, and brand messaging. Asset building: Every campaign makes the algorithm smarter FOR YOU. Cost: CPLs drop over time as you optimize. Exclusivity: Leads come to YOU, not you and 4 competitors. Long-term: You build a marketing machine, not rent someone else's.
Beyond the per-lead fee: your time calling bad leads, competing on price, zero brand building, no data ownership, and complete dependency. When you stop paying, leads stop instantly. With proper marketing, you build audiences, brand recognition, and systems that compound. We help you own your lead flow.
When you're brand new and need jobs immediately while building proper marketing. Use them as a bridge, not a strategy. Dispute bad leads aggressively, cherry-pick premium zip codes, call within 60 seconds, and reinvest profits into your own ads. Graduate from them within 6-12 months.
Home services (roofing, HVAC): Google Ads. Med spas, gyms, restaurants: Meta. B2B: LinkedIn. Young demographics: TikTok. Start with ONE platform, master it, then expand.
Boosting optimizes for engagement (likes), not leads. Real ads use Ads Manager with conversion tracking, retargeting pixels, and 'leads' optimization. Boosted posts = 500 likes. Proper ads = 50 phone calls.
Minimum $500/month per platform. Sweet spot: $1,000-$2,500/month. At $500, platforms learn slowly. At $1,500+, they learn fast. Ad spend goes directly to platforms — we never mark it up.
$299 setup, then $799.99/month for six months. Includes one platform (Meta or Google). Extra platforms: $299.99/month each. Ad spend is separate, paid directly to platforms. No hidden fees.
Everything: strategy, audience research, ad creative, landing page optimization, tracking setup, weekly optimization, monthly calls, detailed reporting. A dedicated strategist, not a junior reading scripts.
Setup fees and deposits are non-refundable (cover real work). Monthly fees are for ongoing service. If you cancel mid-commitment, we'll discuss options. This keeps us both committed.
CPL = Total Ad Spend ÷ Number of Leads. If you spent $1,000 and got 20 leads, your CPL is $50. This tells you how efficiently your ads are generating interest. Lower is better, but quality matters too — a $100 lead that becomes a $10,000 job beats a $20 lead that ghosts you.
DSTA = Total Ad Spend ÷ Booked Appointments. This is the real money metric. If you spent $1,000 and booked 5 appointments, your DSTA is $200. It measures not just leads, but leads that actually got on your calendar. We optimize for DSTA, not just CPL.
ROAS = Revenue Generated ÷ Ad Spend. If you spent $1,000 on ads and closed $9,200 in jobs, your ROAS is 9.2x. This is the ultimate metric — for every $1 you spend, how much do you get back? Our average client sees 9.2x ROAS.
CPC = Ad Spend ÷ Clicks. If you spent $500 and got 250 clicks, your CPC is $2. This measures how expensive it is to get someone to your website or form. Industry averages vary — roofing might be $5-15, med spas $1-3. Lower CPC means more traffic for your budget.
CTR = Clicks ÷ Impressions × 100. If 10,000 people saw your ad and 200 clicked, your CTR is 2%. Higher CTR means your ad is compelling. Below 1% usually means the ad needs work. 2-5% is solid. Above 5% is excellent.
Conversion Rate = Conversions ÷ Clicks × 100. If 100 people clicked your ad and 10 filled out your form, that's 10% conversion. This measures how well your landing page turns visitors into leads. Below 5% needs work, 10-20% is good, above 20% is excellent.
CPM = (Ad Spend ÷ Impressions) × 1,000. If you spent $100 to show your ad 25,000 times, your CPM is $4. This measures how expensive it is to reach people. Higher CPM means competitive audience. We monitor this to ensure you're not overpaying for eyeballs.
Lead-to-Close = Closed Deals ÷ Total Leads × 100. If you got 20 leads and closed 4 jobs, that's 20%. This measures your sales effectiveness. We track this because it affects everything — if you close 10% vs 30%, we adjust targeting and qualification accordingly.
Frequency = Impressions ÷ Reach. If your ad was shown 10,000 times to 2,500 people, frequency is 4 — meaning each person saw it 4 times. 1-3 is awareness, 4-7 is solid, 8+ means ad fatigue and we need fresh creative.
You'll see: Ad Spend, Impressions, Clicks, CTR, CPC, Leads, CPL, Appointments Booked, DSTA, and if available, Revenue and ROAS. We'll highlight what's improving, what needs work, and our optimization plan for next month. No vanity metrics — just numbers that matter to your bottom line.
AI now powers everything from audience targeting to creative optimization. Platforms like Meta and Google use machine learning to find your ideal customers faster than any human could. The advantage: campaigns optimize themselves 24/7. The key is feeding the AI quality data — that's where strategy still matters.
Speed: AI tests thousands of audience combinations in days, not months. Scale: It processes millions of data points to find patterns humans miss. Optimization: Automatic bid adjustments, budget allocation, and creative rotation. Cost: Lower CPL over time as the AI learns. Availability: Works 24/7, optimizing while you sleep.
Learning curve: AI needs 50-100+ conversions to optimize properly — small budgets struggle. Black box: You can't always see WHY it made a decision. Garbage in, garbage out: Bad data or tracking = bad results. Over-reliance: AI can't replace strategy, creative direction, or understanding your customer. Human oversight is still essential.
AI handles execution brilliantly — bidding, targeting, optimization. But it can't understand your business goals, craft a compelling brand story, or pivot strategy when markets shift. The best results come from human strategy + AI execution. We use AI as a tool, not a replacement.
We leverage platform AI for targeting and optimization, use AI tools for creative testing and ad copy variations, and employ predictive analytics to forecast performance. But every campaign has human oversight — we set the strategy, review the data, and make judgment calls AI can't.
Andromeda is Meta's retrieval engine that decides which ads to show. It analyzes 10,000+ factors per user in milliseconds. Key insight: It now prioritizes 'predicted engagement' over demographics. This means creative quality and relevance matter more than ever. Great ads get cheaper reach; boring ads get penalized.
Three big shifts: 1) Advantage+ audiences often outperform manual targeting — the AI knows more than you think. 2) Reels and video content get preferential treatment. 3) First-party data (customer lists, pixel data) is now critical since third-party cookies are dying. We've adapted our strategies accordingly.
Google shifted to interest-based targeting over contextual matching. Demand Gen campaigns now use sophisticated AI to find users across YouTube, Gmail, and Discover. Performance Max requires quality product feeds and varied creative. Key: You need 30-50+ conversions/month for the algorithm to optimize properly.
Demand Gen replaced Discovery campaigns with AI-powered interest matching. Instead of showing ads based on content context, it identifies user interests across Google's ecosystem. Requires high-quality images, varied video lengths (6-sec bumpers, 15-sec stories), and clean product data. We've seen strong results for visual businesses.
PMax uses AI to run ads across ALL Google properties — Search, Display, YouTube, Gmail, Maps. You provide assets (headlines, images, videos), and Google's AI mixes and matches to find winning combinations. New 2025 updates added better reporting and audience insights. Best for e-commerce and businesses with strong visual assets.
TikTok's algorithm prioritizes watch time and engagement over follower count. For ads, this means: native-looking content wins (don't make it look like an ad), hook in first 1-2 seconds or you're dead, vertical video only, and trend-jacking works. The algorithm favors fresh content — creative fatigue hits faster than other platforms.
LinkedIn prioritizes professional relevance and engagement. For ads: B2B targeting is unmatched (job title, company size, industry). Algorithm favors thought leadership content. Video and carousel posts get more reach. Higher CPCs than other platforms but lead quality is typically better for B2B. Best for professional services.
X's algorithm now heavily weights engagement velocity — how fast content gets interactions. For ads: trending topics and real-time relevance matter. Conversational ads perform well. The platform rewards controversy and strong opinions (carefully!). Lower CPMs than Meta but also lower intent. Best for brand awareness and announcements.
With third-party cookies dying (thanks to privacy regulations and Apple's iOS changes), platforms can't track users across the web like before. First-party data — your customer lists, email subscribers, website visitors — becomes gold. We help you collect, organize, and feed this data to platforms for better targeting.
Constantly. Major updates 2-4 times per year, minor tweaks weekly. This is why DIY marketing is risky — what worked 6 months ago might not work today. We monitor algorithm changes, attend platform briefings, and adjust strategies proactively. You focus on your business; we stay current on the tech.
We'll audit for conversion killers: slow loads, confusing nav, weak CTAs, no mobile optimization. If it works, we focus on traffic. If it leaks customers, we fix it. 5% conversion vs 1% = 5x less ad spend needed.
Nope. We create everything — ad copy, images, videos, landing pages. If you want to be involved, even better — authentic content often outperforms polished stuff. iPhone videos work great.
Monthly check-ins to review numbers. If something's off, we change it — new audiences, creative, offers, platforms. If after 90 days we can't move the needle, we'll have an honest conversation.
Home services, health & wellness (med spas, gyms), hospitality, professional services (real estate, lawyers), local retail. 30+ industries. If you serve local or online customers, we can help.
Primarily US, but we've worked with Canada, UK, and Australia. Platforms work the same — strategy adapts to your market. Book a call to discuss.
